Tea for Two

Tea for Two

Tea for two on Glebe Cottage’s deck, overlooking McCann Cove and Passamaquoddy Bay beyond it.

Time and Tides

Time and Tides

Whether sipping coffee to the morning sun’s rays glistening across McCann Cove or serving kabobs hot off the three-burner gas Weber BBQ as the day’s last light colors the sky, time your days by the tides.

Simple on the Outside

Simple on the Outside

(Croquet anyone?) Glebe Cottage is simple and unassuming from the outside…

Through the Wardrobe

Through the Wardrobe

…but once you enter, it’s a little like arriving in C.S. Lewis’s Narnia through the wardrobe.

A Great Room

A Great Room

The great room, with its well-designed, well-equipped kitchen, living room, and dining nook is truly a great room.

Behind Doors and in Drawers

Behind Doors and in Drawers

Fully equipped with all major appliances, small appliances live behind doors and in drawers when not in use. All staples are well-stocked. The spice drawer alone has dozens of organic herbs, spices, and other seasonings with which to whip up amazing meals.

A Matter of Perspective

A Matter of Perspective

No matter where you are in the great room, you have a view of McCann Cove and the bay beyond it.

Pick Your Genre

Pick Your Genre

Ater a day exploring all that St. Andrews and surrounding areas have to offer, unwind with a movie from the DVD collection—whatever your preferred genre, from classics to contemporary, animé to action. Or plug in your laptop via HDMI cable (provided), connect to the Bose Bluetooth SoundTouch audio system, and stream from your favorite subscription site.

Sound Sleep

Sound Sleep

You’ll feel like you’ve slipped into a cloud thanks to the Egyptian cotton sheets and CuddleDown comforter. And there’s plenty of room for all of your personal belongings in the spacious closet. Crack the window, and fall asleep to the sound of the sea kissing the shore.

Double Delight

Double Delight

Double the CuddleDown delight.

Slip into a suds-filled soaking tub, or freshen your duds in the stackable Whirlpool washer and dryer in the cottage’s spacious full bath.

Aloft

Aloft

Need to get away during your getaway? Nimble guests can retreat to the pillow-and peace-filled loft to read, write, sketch, or pair their Bluetooth-enabled device to the Bose SoundLink wireless headphones to enjoy their music or stream the latest episode of a favorite show.

Plush

Plush

Rainy afternoon? Stretch out on the flokati, a plush (and we mean plush) Greek woolen rug, or one of two futons in the loft. Read by the glow of the handmade washi paper lamps.

The loft overlooks the great room.

Living Art

Living Art

The views of McCann Cove and the Passamaquoddy Bay beyond is everchanging, depending on the tides, time, and seasons. Here, the early evening sky colors the cove’s quiet summer waters.

Red Sky at Night

Red Sky at Night

Sailor’s delight.

Falling for Glebe Cottage

Falling for Glebe Cottage

Glebe Cottage is beautiful in all seasons and all weather as this autumn glimpse attests.

Winter Sunrise

Winter Sunrise

Did we mention that Glebe Cottage is glorious in any season? Fog dances across McCann Cove as the sun rises over Kilmarnock Head on a wintry January morning.

Fundy Fog

Fundy Fog

No, those aren’t clouds on the horizon. It’s the famous Fundy fog billowing over the Passamaquoddy Bay’s winter waters. The Fundy fog is so formidable, it spurred noted St. John, NB, engineer, inventor, and artist Robert Foulis to invent the steam-powered fog horn in 1853.

Take Two

Take Two

The same view later in the day during low tide reveals Glebe Cottage’s red sandstone beach, dotted with gulls, shells, and sea glass (begging to be explored, even in January) with the Passamaquoddy Bay islands beyond.
